
Unite The Union have accused the airport of poor treatment of staff and have said workers have been treated with contempt.

Staff have been in contact with their MP’s, Cllrs, Mayors and Unions raising thee concerns.

Many staff have complained about the way this has been handled and many allegations about the fairness of it have been levelled at the airports management including the failure to halt the redundancy programme and furlough workers following the extension of the job redundancy scheme until the end of March 2021. Just before covid hit, an Early Day Motion was set down in Parliament over the “Harassment of trade unionists at London City Airport” and signed by 27 MPs.įollowing covid and its impacts on aviation, London City Airport have begun to make staff redundant. Staff have been desperate for Union representation for a number of years now, something the airport has sought to avoid through a number of avenues, including, in the past, bringing in an American union buster.
